PIC Weather Ops is an operational weather, terrain, fire-awareness, and mission-support application for UAS and drone operations.
Data Collection
PIC Weather Ops may use the device location to provide weather, mission, map, terrain, fire-awareness, and operational risk information. Location access is used only to support the app's core functionality, including current-location weather, mission point selection, map tools, operational briefings, environmental context, and mission-risk assessment.
The app does not require users to create an account.
Camera and Photos
PIC Weather Ops may request access to the device camera for AR Wind View and to allow operators to attach photos to local FIRES field reports.
Photos attached to local FIRES reports are stored locally on the device. PIC Weather Ops does not upload those photos unless the user explicitly chooses to share or export them.
Weather and Environmental Data
The app may connect to external data providers to retrieve forecasts, wind, gusts, precipitation, visibility, humidity, pressure, sunrise, sunset, air-quality information, thermal detections, fire context, and other environmental information used by the app.
Third-Party Services
PIC Weather Ops may use third-party weather, map, air-quality, terrain, and fire-data services to provide operational and location-based information. These services may receive location coordinates or selected place information only as needed to return the requested data or map content.
PIC Weather Ops does not sell user data to these services.
Stored Data
PIC Weather Ops may store mission points, selected locations, alert preferences, checklist status, app settings, local FIRES reports, and report photos locally on the user's device.
Locally stored data is used to support the app experience and is not sold.
Tracking and Advertising
PIC Weather Ops does not use third-party advertising tracking and does not sell user data.
Data Retention and Deletion
Data stored locally on the device can be removed by deleting the app or by deleting locally stored content within the app where that functionality is available.
User-Initiated Sharing and Export
PIC Weather Ops may allow users to share or export reports, photos, or operational files. Sharing occurs only when initiated by the user through the app or the operating system's sharing tools. Once information is shared or exported, its handling is governed by the destination service or recipient selected by the user.
Important Notice
PIC Weather Ops supports operational planning. The operator/RPIC remains responsible for checking official weather sources, local aviation regulations, airspace restrictions, NOTAMs, and final operational and flight safety conditions before every mission.
